Fedoskino Russian Lacquer Miniature Box “Cinderella” by artist Lavrenkova

Description

The box, painted by Natalia Lavrenkova from the village of Fedoskino, depicts a scene from the famous fairy tale by Charles Perrault "Cinderella".  You can see how the prince meets a beautiful Cinderella in a beautiful dress in front of the carriage.  Every detail is spelled out to the smallest detail.  If you look at the faces of the characters, you can read their emotions.
The box is made of papier-mâché. Before painting, the lid is covered with silver, which makes it possible for the light to reflect from some elements of the composition, this is especially noticeable on the windows of the carriage and the costumes of the prince and Cinderella. Black lacquer is used to paint the outside of the box, while red lacquer finishes the inside.
The work is signed with the name of the artist Fedoskino 2005 and the title ("Cinderella").
