Moroccan Berber Vintage Shoulder Bag Coral Amber Glass Beads & Coins Filigree

Stunning detail and artful craftsmanship displayed in this creative and still fully functional handbag. The Berber men of Morocco would traditionally make and carry these under their djellabas. Hand stitched leather decorated with coral, amber and glass trade beads and accented with bits of jewelry and coins. Some of the trade beads are Venetian glass and others are the African tribal trade beads. Jewelry bits include antique coin pendants, fibula pieces with old enamel color and hand cut glass cabochons, an enameled Taguemout egg and a delicately filigreed flower top center. Beautifully balanced and masterfully crafted. Simply amazing and inspired. This bag measures 9 inches tall by 12 inches wide. The strap drop is 17 inches. It has a fold over top. Under that there is a zippered pocket and a smaller snap pocket. On the back there is also a zippered pocket and large slit pocket. The strap itself is typically utilitarian rope.
