Description

This is a gorgeous box with many fairy tales depicted on it and brilliant colors. We believe the figure in the middle may be Pushkin, who wrote a lot of famous Russian fairy tales. The word in the middle of the written words at the bottom is the name of a fictional land in Russian folklore and history.
It is 1.5 inches long x 8 inches wide x 2 inches high and is on four legs.

*Please keep in mind any translations on these lacquer boxes are rough as none of us are fluent in Russian. These boxes are paper mâché NOT wood like many seem to think. They are also usually one of a kind. From our research we’ve found these boxes usually take each artist at least a year to finish and they paint with brushes that normally only contain 1-2 hairs of various creatures. There are also only four villages in Russia that are known for these exquisite boxes: Palekh, Fedoskino (the oldest one to begin lacquer painting), Mstera, & Kholui.

We sell mostly old, vintage, or antique pre-owned items that are purchased from estate sales and such. Sometimes there may be wear and the item may need cleaning. Items do come from unknown homes and other locations where there could be pets, smoke, or other irritants to some of you, if you are allergic to any please consider before bidding or buying. We try to describe each item as accurately as possible and/or will have enough photos to show condition.

If an item arrives broken please contact us immediately for processing details. Please keep all packaging and provide us a photo or two of the item for quicker processing.
There are no returns for buyer’s remorse. Returns are only accepted for complete error in description. If we neglect to describe something, we feel is insignificant we will not accept them back. We sell vintage and antique items and due to their simple nature, they are rarely perfect.
If we accept your return, we will issue a refund when we receive your item, provided that it is returned in its original packaging and is in the same condition as it was when it was sent. We will not refund return shipping fees unless we sent you an incorrect item.
