    Description

Vintage West African women's blouse [buba] and wrapper [iro] set, hand made in Nigeria. These garments are custom made by local tailors for individual customers so they don't adhere to a specific sizing system, however I estimate that the blouse would be a loose boxy fit as intended on someone who wears a size small, or more fitted on someone who wears a medium, in both cases the sleeves are wide [see dimensions below]. The wrapper is definitely made to fit a petite person so please see dimensions below.
The wax print is 100% cotton, in shades of light mustard yellow, navy blue indigo, grass green and white. The fabric is made in Nigeria; these days most wax print is made in Asia. The wrapper has a small hem and the blouse is very slightly more faded. The selvedge is visible in two places on one side of the blouse [see photos] and in one place on the reverse side (there isn't really a front and back) which I think is a quirky design feature.

All items are 100% authentic and vintage items will have been previously worn, often in a traditional environment. Every effort has been made to describe any significant flaws in both words and pictures in the listings however a certain amount of wear should always be expected. Handmade items should also be expected to contain irregularities which I believe adds to their character and does not detract in any way from their quality.
